This song was written by Monika Danneman, she was the girlfriend of Jimi hendrix at the time of his death. He was found dead in her appartement in London. She wrote “We’ll Burn the Sky” as a tribute to him. Later in her life she dated Uli John Roth (Scorpions Guitarist at the time) and he turned it into a song. The two would end up being married.

Monika Danneman, age 50, was found dead in her vehicle due to monoxide poisoning near her cottage in Seaford, East Sussex. Her death was ruled a suicide. Uli Roth, however, publicly stated his opinion that her death had been the result of foul play. Roth dedicated later works to the memory of Dannemann.
