French voters head to the polls on April 24 in the second and final round of the country’s presidential election, with President Emmanuel Macron and his far-right challenger Marine Le Pen facing off in a rematch of their 2017 duel. France 24's Selina Sykes reports from a polling station in Paris. The voters there told her that it's 'important to vote', they feel that it's their 'civic duty'.

Exactly Scott Simon that's what I did! People are strange...I am a French who lived abroad for 30 years. In my place guess who came first in the first round: Eric Zemmour! A guy who wants to get rid of foreigners in France by any means. So people living in a foreign country vote for a guy who, if elected in the country they live in, would get rid of them...Sometimes I wonder if people have any kind of matter between their 2 ears. 20 years ago I met the only neurosurgeon operating in Burma at the time. He confided to me that his prominent fear was, if something went wrong into his military leader's skull (Burma has been ruled by a klepto-military junta since independence in 1948), he would have to open it as the only neurosurgeon in the country, and that he would find....NOTHING!

It is good to see that she's finally taking on popular livelihood issues rather than emotive issues

However Macron still has got what it takes to tide over anti-incumbent phenomenon
