Thanks so much for this. I’ve been going through a great book on scales and modes with accompanying backing tracks, and using a BOSS looper pedal to make chord progressions to solo over. This is a great way to visualize different ideas and targeting the root notes of each chord in the scale is sound advice!

what's the best starting scale to learn

when playing the Am pent scale and I want to combine the G major scale, I will need to know the notes of the G major scale that are in the 5th position, as the A minor pentatonic scale is being played in.... am I close to being correct?

Steve, I agree with all the comments about your talent at playing and teaching. I do want to make sure you are aware of the business “Guitar Zoom” is a mess.
