International Relations minister, Naledi Pandor says the possible arrest of Russian President, Vladimir Putin was not discussed during a meeting of BRICS ministers. BRICS foreign affairs and international relations ministers are meeting in Cape Town over two days, to discuss regional and global developments. The meeting also takes place in the run-up to the BRICS summit in South Africa in August. The International Criminal Court has issued a warrant of arrest against Putin for the war in Ukraine. As a signatory to the Rome Statute, South Africa has an obligation to act on the warrant of arrest. We are now joined via Zoom for more by Tembisa Fakude, Senior Research Fellow at Africa Asia Dialogues.

Seemingly the way things are unfolding, am starting to realise that The West need South Africa more than we need them.
As SAn's🇿🇦 we have to take this risk because things are bad regardless of the ANC corruption.

South Africa is not in a dangerous situation. South Africa is a sovereign country and its bricks they made your own decision nobody have the right to tell him what to do and what not to do that sovereign country

This professor is so naive. He says Egypt should be boycotted because it arrests journalists, and it does, but does he recall a journalist called Assange?

Did our acclaimed senior research fellow who is so much concerned about freedom of journalists and human rights just forgot to tell us about: Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, Gonzalo must we celebrate their torture? Does global public opinion = western powers opinion? Just be honest, I am singing for my supper!

Its interesting that human rights concerns are only an issue with respect to non-western countries; But with respect to western countries, it's not an issue and must not be mentioned or discussed; Every country on earth has violated human rights, so what is the point?

The answer is simple: BRICS was formed before the Rus-Uk war.

Had Rus-Uk war occurred first, and then BRICS, then valid.

Developing Nations need Global funds to fed people. Developed nations need Global conflict due to the population imbalance - which is caused by immigration, due to the over popularism of one location been rich - caused by the WW2 situation and agreement of the Brentwood convention.

..yip, it's a complicated issue.

And who is this? Who was interviewed and where is this news channel from? From South Africa or some kind of opposition abroad?

This title is misleading, it is all about Russia-Ukraine issues and nothing about BRICS.
