I think Subnautica kind of perfected and demonstrated how to properly do early access. Since this game there have been many more early access successes, most following a very similar strategy: staying transparent and open, fostering a strong community, taking community feedback and implementing it, making a distinguishing identity, making sure to keep a steady pace of development, and avoid high pay walls or micro-transactions (some cosmetics can be gotten away with if the game is free). It seems we have entered a new era in gaming in which small indie developers can and will out do AAA developers thanks to their more creative ideas and use of this early access strategy.

favorite part about this is that the community made a multiplayer version of subnatica pretty fast, even if it kinda sucks

Video quality is phenomenal, text choice could definitely use some work but the fact that there's a general visual theme, a script, and a clear topic relating to the title is incredible for a channel of this size. Keep it up.

9:31 That "etc." stands for less important fears like, you know, getting hunted and devoured by sea monsters.

The fact they went from FPS games to open world exploration with very light combat elements and succeeded really shows how talented this studio is

Not played Subnautica but I love it when a small team makes a great game and it pays off big. 3 people made Hollow Knight and I've pumped dozens of hours into it, and Team Cherry (deservedly) made serious bank. I can't wait for Silksong.

Subnautica is fascinating game that took me back into gaming after like 15 years break. Previous one I completed was maybe DukeNukem3D. Now I watch all videos about it as I think this game is just piece of art and I'm fan of everything Unknown Worlds studio does these days.

Great video, subbed and look forward to more! There's so many games out there now that it's nice to get a recap of a game's development like this instead of having to pore through all their devlogs and such.

Sometimes, I’m bored. And I get in subnautica, just to look at the beautiful world of it in creative. And I never get tired of this, whenever I’m bored I just get on my creative world and start exploring, I think I have about 17 days and 9 hours of playtime on that world. Subnautica is amazing

Hey dude, great vid. This actually helped me in a research project for class where one of my topics was how community feedback can drive innovation.

No wonder why i love subnautica so much! Journey, skyrim and minecraft has been games that has had a huge impact on my life at some point. In 2018 subnautica was the only thing I played and i still replay it now and then. I play everytime a new update has come out to below zero aswell! Great game
