In this video I trained like steph curry for 50 days to improve my shooting. I practiced Steph Curry's shooting tips from his masterclass to see how much I could improve my jump shot in 50 days with before and after percentages. I've been a huge fan of basketball, the NBA, and Steph curry for quite a while now, so I had fun training like Steph Curry for the last 50 days, and was happy with how much I improved! Hope you like it.

When you put in the work and feel discouraged because the results don’t match the effort I always think to an analogy that Greg Popovich told the Spurs. “A sculptor can strike a stone one thousand times without result and then on the stroke one thousand and one, the stone breaks.” That has stuck with me and keeps the motivation there to push through.

I felt this same way in 10th grade. I felt like I would never master the 3 pt shot. Step forward 1 year of practicing on my own all the time. I shot 42% from 3 in 11th grade and 51% in 12th. You got this man. It just takes more time than 50 day to master. GOOD LUCK!

My shooting has improved immensely after I taught myself to shoot with my “entire body.” This sort of lines up with Steph saying to shoot “from the ground up.” This has helped me shoot way quicker off the dribble/catch, as well as improved my ability to shoot off balance shots. With off balance shots, I make sure that my feet and follow through always end up towards the rim by the time I land.

What some people don't realize is that by first learning the basics and doing them over and over and over again...once you get really good at the basics you find yourself implementing the basics in your play even when it LOOKS like you aren't - and you can adapt them to yourself and to unique situations.

I had a tennis instructor who was, at one point ranked 78th among women (yeah, I know that sounds low, but for those who play tennis, that's pretty good).

For weeks she had us pushing our rackets perfectly perpendicular to the ball so that we weren't "swinging" but pushing at the ball when we made contact.

I wondered why because you never see a pro doing this forward straight pressing "swing". However, she was just concerned we hit the ball with the racket face perpendicular to the ball's direction - over and over and over and over again.

Then, after several weeks (with some other teaching regarding swinging our racket), she stopped requiring this straight motion BUT, I was blown away, even with the racket moving in what looked like an arc (rather than a straight push) I was making shots perpendicular to the ball's movement even in when the swing LOOKED like an arc and the ball was going where I aimed.

So, it may not LOOK like Steph Curry shoots like that, but he first learned the basics and then he was able to adapt those basics...

I know exactly how it feels to improve just enough to finally be able to beat those that used to beat you. The feeling is wholesome

Another thing that always helped me: Split up the learning process in two phases. 1) is perfecting technique. Don't bother if you hit or miss. Just focus on your mechanics. Try to feel your body. That's the drawing board stage. 2) Now, try to go out and just shoot. Don't think about your technique. Just focus on the rim and try to build muscle memory.

The key is, your brain being devided in two major parts, which I can't properly name in English. The bigger, newer part is for analysing. Here you design your shot. It's perfectly capable of performing complicated calculations, BUT it's terribly slow. So, for the shooting itself you need the older part of your brain, which isn't as complexly interwoven, but has much higher channel speed. Or processing speed, which you need to adjust the informations coming from your fingertips to the orders you're giving to your muscles.

So, think about your shot only once a week. Any other time: Just think about the rim.

Ever tried to teach someone how to shoot, only to shoot an airball. That's what happens, when you try to let your cerebrum (the analytic part - I looked it up) do what your cerebellum is designed for. So, don't think. Just shoot!

Such a great display of content, and well done. I too improved from 13/50 to 35/50 doing the same. Steph Curry's masterclass is a must watch.

It's actually hilarious that's Curry's master class teaches you to shoot in a way that is absolutely nothing like how he shoots

This is the best video I have seen in my life. After learning for more than a month and beating your brother just made me so happy because you reached your goal. I got into basketball so hard I try to laern new things and this vide not only gave me the knowledge but also inspiration. Thank you mate!

This was so cool. Very well done and relatable. I felt the frustration when you were in the car. Without that I wouldn't have realized how truly bummed you were when you started trying longer shots. Just shows the universal truth that improvement takes focus, hard work and being intentional plus patience with the journey. Congrats! Inspires me to apply myself at...something. lol

I say it on every video but this channel is so underrated! The editing makes them so damn addictive to watch. I'm a Brit who doesn't really care about basketball but this channel really helps show me how much potential we have if we put the time and effort in.

I’m biased because I love basketball but probably my favorite video from you guys. I’ve actually been teaching my little brother how to shoot properly and he’s also had a transformation of a double handed shot into a much better one handed release. This video reminds a lot of the training and practice I had to do with him. We still shoot around everyday as now our goal is to expand his range to shooting from the free throw line with good form. Awesome to see that your shot actually looks better than your brothers and is smooth. Just some fine tweaking with letting the release hang out a little longer, starting the shot lower for more power, and footwork but it’s looking good!

Also, these type of videos are awesome. I know they take longer to film as it’s 2-3 months in the making but I enjoy these type of videos as it gives us a better look at how challenging it is to change habits from a technical standpoint and a look at the the high and lows of getting into a new hobby/goal.

Congrats on the videos, new shot. Keep it up!

The recent content has been a great step up on what was already a great level of quality, and now there's a more frequent upload schedule to boot. Love watching these videos!

curry is a right hand shooter so he activates his shooting by facing his feet slightly to the left and sometimes it faces the rim so hi rotates his hip to the left 2:48

noticed you shot at two different lengths of 3pt line as well. One is Highschool length around 19 feet and the other FIBA lenght around 21-22 feet.
