I had been wanting to do this for a few years since the N3ZI kit worked so well externally.

Elegant Steve! I would encourage you to put together a complete article with schematics and submit to QST, QEX or post at online. Congrats. Bill KB4QAA

Good job Steve and no drifting in frequency. The N3ZI VFO is nice, i have a couple of them in various QRP transceivers.

Hey Steve. Guess you skipped Dayton this year. Good call. Totally approve of this project (as if that matters)! I am have a HW-16 I want to convert to DDS. I can't figure out a low volume problem it has.. Anyway thanks and have fun. We'll be dead soon enough.

Hi everyone. It seems like the N3ZI vfo is discontinued. Does anyone know of an alternative or have an N3ZI vfo for sale? I really really need one of these or something equal to this that I can buy already made or something that I can put together.
I can pay for that N3ZI vfo that Steve is using if anyone has one for sale or knows where one is. I need one or something like it quickly!
I am N2DMI and I good on QRZ

Nice job and a clean look, Steve. Have you experienced any RF interference in the display while transmitting?

You dont happen to have a schematic of your set up do you? I cant make my n3zi drive my dx60. Not sure where to feed the signal into the transmitter

It's a good thought, but it looks like you destroyed a very nice vintage DX60 by hacking into the face of the thing rather than building the VFO in a box separate from the transmitter.
