Firestopping Tested Detail: Plastic Cable Conduits

Quelfire’s products are all independently tested at Warringtonfire, which is a UKAS accredited certification body. A significant proportion of annual investment goes into research and development in order to provide the construction industry with primary test evidence over engineering judgements.

Typically, most manufacturers test cable conduits up to 16mm; however, we have tested details for up to 50mm conduits. We have a detail where it can go directly through a single skin plasterboard wall, and we have also tested it in conjunction with our QuelStop Fire Batt.

One of the details seen in the video is a pattress-fitted fire batt with our QuelStop HPE Sealant around the outside of a conduit. We also have a detail where it is in a double layer in a letterbox.
