I love Manual Controls!
Is this the longest FIFA goal ever? I don't know but I haven't found a longer one yet!*

*Edit: Yes, I am aware that there is now a clip of a longer-distance goal being scored.

Did you know that if you use the default assisted controls you can't score this type of goal? If you use assisted controls, pressing the long pass button like I did here would have just made it go the striker further up the pitch. On Manual, I can aim for the goal with full power to score because I have total control.

Not if you have assisted lob passing on, because it would naturally attempt to play the ball to the striker who is further up the pitch because it would assume you were passing instead of shooting. If there was nobody ahead of the player with the ball (Balmont) then what you suggest could well happen, but if there is a player to pass to, the nature of assisted passing is that it will always try to correct whatever you are doing to a pass it thinks you are trying to play.

Not on purpose. The way semi-assisted and assisted controls work is the game assumes that you are always trying to do the action of the button you press, if there is someone appropriate nearby. So if I had been using assisted here, because I used the long pass button, Balmont would have tried to pass either to my striker or for him to run onto because it would 'correct' my aim and power for me. On manual, there is no 'correcting' whatsoever, I get to control where things go.

Great goal! I always do that on Fifa, I make my goal at the side of the other goalkeeper and a player kicks the ball and the ball comes into the goal!

@CR9MCF The Hauppauge HD PVR comes with a piece of software called "ArcSoft TotalMedia Extreme" (or at least mine did), you do not need to pay any extra for it and that is the software you use to do recordings. It can record in MP4, M2TS and TS formats. I know that both MP4 and M2TS are youtube-suitable, don't know about TS. In order to edit videos and add effects and stuff you will need a separate piece of software, but if all you want to do is record then the PVR comes with what you need.

@batmankid45 Yes but only for corners. They will do so in injury time if you set your mentality to ultra-attacking and you are losing by one goal.

@CR9MCF Actually it does come with a very basic piece of editing software, but I only looked at it very briefly so I don't know a whole lot about it. I'm not sure what you can do with it but I don't think it's much use.

@Rewnskeyp See my Manual Movement Series for more info but I'll explain in this case. When you use assisted controls and press the pass button, the game will try and pass to a player, regardless of where you aim and how much power you put on. If I was on assisted, he would have just tried to pass the ball to Moussa who is way up the pitch. On Manual the game won't "correct" my aim/power for me at all, so I just hit a full power long pass aimed at the goal. And fortunately, it went in.

I did one from the mdfield line with Maarten stekelburg(goalkeeoer) and the opponet had a goalkeeper, so it is possible to make a great distance goal, even if your opponent has a goalkeeper in the goal.

@GriptaiL Erm... no I didn't, this goal made me go 3-1 up. I wasn't aware teams usually sent their goalkeeper up for a last minute corner when they were WINNING by one goal.

I use a Hauppauge HD PVR. It works with PS3 but it is quite expensive. Other options that exist are Dazzle capture cards, Black Magic Intensity Pro, Elgato Game Capture HD to name a few I know off the top of my head. To record gameplay in HD quality you will need something like this, but none of them are particularly cheap I'm afraid =(

@MaxitronandMatty Urgh how the hell am I not getting through to people here. I got it on target because I used MANUAL CONTROLS. There is no luck involved. Manual means total control. The game does no correcting for me, the ball goes EXACTLY where I aim using the analog stick with the appropriate power that I put on. This is not the case with the default assisted controls which you will be using, because the game decides what's going to happen for you if you use those controls.
