Ordered my Maverick in August of last year, was told February delivery. Found out that someone saw it and offered to pay extra, and the sales rep sold it even with knowing that it was my order.
Got a call from Ford Company asking how I liked my new Maverick, Asked them when do I get it.
Silence at the other end, then asked what I meant, and I informed them I have not gotten my Maverick.
They informed me 2 days later of what happened and said not to go to that dealer anymore.

I CANT WAIT FOR BLUE OVAL CITY!!! I live in the same county it’s being built in and can’t wait for the opportunities it’s bringing.

The issue is these dealers ripping off customers left and right need serious consequences. Ford needs to remove those dealerships from its network. That’ll make them behave real quick

They built the first car for the Masses, don't underestimate a 118 year old company. I've had all makes of American cars, and plenty of imports, the most reliable were ford's and Toyota

Nothing about the Maverick. This is nothing but a Ford Vs Tesla expansion process

Tesla production rate will be 2M per year at the end of the current year (2022) and will have 4 ramped up plants. Ford says they hope to be there by 2026, which will be difficult. The even bigger difficulty is that Tesla can produce the 2M cars this year and make 30% gross profit, it is doubtful that Ford can break even at the 2M product rate. The good news for Ford is that they are 1 to 2 years ahead of GM, which has a hopeless situation.

When I see enough evs in dealer lots to meet demand I would believe it. Their current factories are outdated to make ice cars. Tesla is investing in new factories in Germany, China and USA and doubling their plant growth. producing evs and batteries is a very different task.

Tesla should do okay the rest of this year and during 2023. However, their growth will slow in 2024 and they'll be facing serious problems in 2025. Ford's Mach-e, Lightning, and e-Transit vans are all in demand. However, Ford doesn't include the Maverick in its estimate of electric vehicles when it estimates 50k/month by December 2023. And realistically, the Maverick could be the next Volkswagen Beetle with very high demand. The big question is whether Ford can ramp up production of the Maverick fast enough to meet demand since this could be 50k/month just for this vehicle alone.

They need to nuke their dealer network. I will not buy another Ford because of the experiences that I had with my local dealers. They were all horrendous.

I was REALLY wanting to purchase the '23 Lightning but the prices are going up $7k across all models.
Leaning towards the Maverick XLT now but it's nearly impossible to get one. They have too many preorders and will take years to catch up.

"Catching Tesla" is a whole 'nother deal – it's just something Farley has to say so the media sits up and pays attention. I doubt _anyone_ else can grow their EV business by 50%/year like Tesla. What Ford needs to focus on is a) scaling up their EV production, b) keeping their EV supply chains prepared for the next few years of growth (yet keep contracts flexible enough to allow for the constant changes in battery technology) and c) trying to stay efficient and smart enough to _actually make a profit_ on their EVs.

When will people wake up and start DEMANDING that Power Plants need to be in place and reliably operational before delivering electric vehicles to the population. Many States are having Rolling Blackouts due to their inability or negligence in building adequate and reliable Power Generating facilities. With the negligent distribution of Electric Vehicles you will see (and may be part of) Rolling Blackouts more frequently. Your power will be out at night as your neighbors charge their vehicles. If it’s winter then many people will be cold and in the summer there will be many people WITHOUT A/C.
I sure hope they like their EV….when they get them charged.

Well, this project was going gangbusters with lots of activity going on.
There was a couple of guys flying drones over the project regularly so
we all could watch it come together. THEN, one day, Ford reported they
were pausing the project for a short time and we have seen no drone
flights since. Its almost like all workers packed up & left the site about
04.01.2024. You would think one of the drones would fly over and show
the site idle.

It appears that VW will take the ICE age into the grave, looks like Ford is determined to challenge Tesla for the number one spot. For years I felt that the LFP battery was a no brainer. Tesla appears to be determined to make the nickel-cobalt work. I will put my money on a safe and reliable Ford.
