Why EVERY Photographer NEEDS a Point & Shoot Camera
Hi there! Me again. In today's video I'm going to go over 5 resons why every photographer needs a point and shoot camera. I think point and shoot cameras are an important and fun tool that photographers can add to their arsenal. Whether you're hanging out with friends, going to a party, or doing anything where you want to stay in the moment and not worry about taking pictures so much, a point and shoot camera can be your best friend. I hope you enjoy this one. Bye now!

Yes! I love how these encourage us to shoot casually because these casual photos you showed have such a unique personal vibe🙌🏼
I use an Olympus XA3 my Grandpa gifted to my Mum back 30 years ago🤗

I bought a Canon SX 740 HS, Reimann! I like this old school approach of having a “diary”. No smartphone photos. A Camera! No notifications or distractions.

I totally agree with you. Such a small point & shoot is perfect for parties with friends! However, I have no point & shoot but also no friends lol. So it balances out. 😆

Hey Reimann!! I use the Rollei 35S. The camera uses a zone focusing system which makes this camera like point & shoot. I love its build quality, pocketable size, fantastic lens (40mm f2.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar), and the very bright viewfinder with clear frame lines. For many people, the Rollei is a quirky camera, but it is a great tool for street photography due to its small size and quiet shutter

40 years ago, I agreed with his assumption that everyone needs a point and shoot camera. I bought an Oly XA, which I never really used because it is piece of crap IMO. Then, I bought a Contax T2 before it acquired status as hipster jewelry and tripled in price, but I still don't use it because I don't mix my photography with my social life, such as it is. Currently, my lust is for a Konica Reporter half frame, which I probably wouldn't use either. if you're a really sucker, procure for me a Konica Reporter in working, decent condition (they all seem to be beaten on the outside), and I'll trade you my XA in mint condition with flash (working still?), display case and carton it came in. (offer good for 90 days.)

Ey you made it! It’s so true, I feel less pressured when I shoot point-and-shoots and I always have one with me even if I have my slr 😂

I agree with everything you say! They really bring a different element of "fun" to film. My p&s is an Agfa 535 though it's a lil' unreliable so I'll take my chance with whichever camera next comes my way at a charity store ☺️

Watching this while trying to justify a 4x5 setup. My P&S has been a Canon G5X, after passing along my G12/wanting more than the Sony HX90V had to offer. These have all been a great tool for spreading the photography fun, which is a fulfilling biproduct of the hobby/profession.

Yashica T AF with the legendary Carl Zeiss lens. Kinda the first of the bunch, super 80s looking, flying totally under the radar. Picked it up for 10 bucks, looove it!

I always carry a camera on me. Small pocket size or P&S if Im not with anything serious in mind but want to be ready for snapshots. I’ve had my Lomo LC-A since ca 2002. Took it to many parties and it has a somewhat unusual ability to give nice exposures in crappy light. It was this original Lomo LC-A that kept me using film even though I also had digital cameras from 2004 until now. In 2005 I got Olympus XA which I still use a lot. I think its a great camera to carry in my pocket and gives more control than the Lomo LC-A. The XA is a proper but super compact rangefinder with good sharp 35mm/2.8 lens and ISO up to 800iso. When I want maximum convenience I carry my Olympus Mju-ii which has autofocus, a flash with several settings and also a very useful spotmeter option for more tricky lighting situations.

I have an 8.1 megapixel Ricoh gr digital with me all the time. The built in flash is very handy at times.
My Olympus Af1 with the super sharp 35mm 2.8 Zuiko in my bag.

I have a canon sure shot z70w in perfect shape. New to the game… I’m wondering if the presets on there like (portrait, close up, night time ) really matters ?

I have a Nikon L35AF2 which I luckily picked up on a flea market for dirt cheap and it's amazing. However I would never pay the "market price" for it, or most other point and shoots because they often feel really cheap. For digital I'd absolutely love a Fuji X100V, which I might buy some day.
