Jotul F100 Wood Stove Unboxing, Setup and Initial Review. We unbox our new Jotul F100 Wood Stove, get it into position, set it up and give the first thoughts. I lost the clip of me installing the baffle to this stove. I also grout the slate tile hearth in this video.

Hello viewers, a representative Jotul North America contacted me on Monday after the release of this video. They were apologetic about the paint issues, offered several theories of what may have happened. They also offered several solutions, talked about their manufacturing process etc. I came away convinced that this is not a normal occurrence. I was also completely satisfied with any of the several resolutions they offered. (A new Stove etc). In the end, I was happy to accept a free T shirt and some Jotul Swag). Overall I am very happy with this stove and would buy it again. (And I did buy it for full retail price).

Your shots of the drive, entry and startup are seamless - well thought out and perfectly edited. Great job!

I saw the most beautiful, massive, ornate cast iron stove yesterday in sw Michigan. It was made in the UP a good lifetime ago and transported to the lower echelons of the mitten on account of love. Yep, a UP man fell in love with a mitten lady and brought his stove to warm her heart. Good thing it didn't fit in my pocket because I'd have been sore tempted... It was still in operation, though the mitten lady is no longer of this realm and the UP man is in Florida with one of their sons. When you install a cast iron stove or plant a rose garden, you're also reaching out to future generations.

I love that heath mantle and the story with it (last video).
It looks even better now.
Scary.

That the Jøtul stove is actually painted makes me rise a eyebrow. In Scandinavia, we simply use "sot paste" or "stove paste" to maintain and keep the stoves protected and black. If you dont have it, let me know and ill send some over for you to try! Keeps the stove protected and in really good shape! Beautiful stove and a good job with the protective wall and floor! :)

I'm sure alot of your viewers would like to see you contact the manufacturer. It may lead to better products for the next guy. With your channel I would think they would want to do something about the problem for your satisfaction. Let us know, thanks mike🦃

Your cabin is a beauty!! I’ve been following along for a few months now and really enjoy your craftsmanship! I’m looking forward to the day that I can do a similar project. Hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving!!

Man your smart. I have never thought about all those pipe
clearances. I've really enjoyed watching you build your cabin. When your through you will need to start a addition to cabin so you don't run out of things to show us.

Looking good! When I remodeled my kitchen, the cabinet maker asked me to do a review of their cabinets. I stated they were great quality, very happy. Only flaw was a slightly warped door on one cabinet, which I was prepared to live with. About ten days later a new door showed up on my porch. It’s worth sending them an email. On another note, I think it’s time for some stairs!

Looks nice, dont worry that paint will burn off anyway. Just touch it up. I have had three wood burners over the years and I would have gone with triple stainless lined chimeny pipe all the way up. Lasts forever and never wears out. Less cleaning and safer. Duravent is one brand.

I’m REALLY liking all of your choices on this build - it’s like you are in my head!

What you are seeing is the refractory cement that is used on the cast iron joints. the stove is coated / polished stove black not paint. Some of the "quick fixes" people suggested would be great if it wasn't a working stove. Most would smoke, burn and degrade. By all means contact the seller or Jotel and ask for guidance or maybe try looking at the paperwork that comes with the stove. Thanks for video. PV install looks good.

I love Jotul fires. Pretty much the same design for decades and they last two lifetimes.

NICE STOVE. Make sure that pipe to stove connection is Tite. From the video it doesn't look like it is in all the way. You may have the pipe upside down. DOUBLE CHECK THE PIPE LAYOUT!!! Perfect size stove for your cabin. LOVE IT, STAY WARM‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸

That was some great photography at the beginning of your video. Appears your road is still holding up also. Really disappointing that the finish on your new stove wasn't quality work. You've had quite a few cold nights there before you put the heater in the bedroom. Here's hoping that I knew stove will keep you toasty and warm. Thanks again for taking time out to make a video and share your experience.

I would take a pic and send it to the company to show them where the paint is missing along with pic of names that did inspection.
