They are the last remnants of the once great kingdom of Arnor. They would dwell and operate in secret, protecting the inhabitants of Eriador while kindling the hope that one of their line would one day bring the kingdom back to its former glory.

What videos would you like to see here on the channel? (It’s been a while since I’ve asked!)

The 2012 video game LOTR War in The North does a great job covering the lore of the rangers of the North.
Keep up the great work Mellon

The true definition of "Special Forces", these Men were as elite and hard as it gets. Living predominantly in the wild, their entire lives dedicated to the eradication of evil entities, they suffered no fools and would have garnered great respect, had folks even been aware of their self appointed responsibilities. They certainly have mine!

As someone who has played Lord of the Rings Online for years the Rangers of the North and the Grey Company have a special place in my heart. A scattered people still watching over their once great kingdom and keeping the peace as best as they could without asking for compensation.

I would pay any amount of money to watch a mini series or something about just the War in the North. The Rangers, Angmar, Cardolan, the Easterlings battling Dwarves in Erebor; it's all fantastic.

A lot of pretty hardcore Tolkien fans don't realize that after the war of the ring is over and Gondor is sorted out King Elessar returns to the north and rebuilds the capital city of Annuminas. So he actually rules the reunited Kingdoms from very close to the Shire, and Sam's children frequently visit there.

Finally a video about greatest wariors of any legendarium, so powerful, so strong, and yet mysterious and their deeds will never be known to others, and yet they still fight

Dude, I’m not gonna lie, you’re probably one of my favorite YouTubers at the minute. I’ve always loved Lord of the Rings, but I never really knew much about it other than what happens in the movies. When I found your channel I basically instantly became in love with it, so whenever I’m bored I just go onto YouTube and look for an interesting video to watch, and usually I end up watching one of your videos. The editing style is smooth and clean and the way you show characters on the map is awesome.

About a week ago I had to go to the hospital, and it was like 3:00 in the morning and I was bored, so while I was in the room I showed my dad (who absolutely LOVES the movies, I can’t even articulate how much he does) your entire 40 minute Morgoth video, since he hadn’t seen much about the time of Baleriand and all that. We were both solidly entertained for the entire runtime of the video, and it was an awesome way to brighten the mood. Awesome content dude, keep it up.

The relationship between Elrond, and particularly his sons, and the Dunedain of the North is an extremely interesting one. Elrond commonly is referred to as an Elf. And he indeed, forced to choose, took the Elvish side of his lineage. But he remains "mighty among both Elves and Men." And his sons may look like Elf lords. But they have not yet made their choice. And clearly are very close with the surviving Dunedain.

The very first time I read Lord of the Rings, my favorite chapter was the one where the Hobbits met Strider in Bree. There were paragraphs that I read over and over because I loved it so much. I love the rangers.

I think a show or movie about the Dunedain could be amazing

The Dunedain were the spark that light the torch for me to delve deeper in to the Tolkien legendarium when I was a kid.

Always LOVE to see in game stills from Lord of the Rings Online in your videos (i.e. the bridge of Tharbad at 6:40). It's been so amazing to travel directly with the Rangers and aid them throughout all the locations you discuss in your video. It always makes me realize how much that game's developers care about the lore. This video was terrific - thank you!

The ́oden was indeed glad of the news. ‘It is well!’ he said. ‘If these kinsmen be in any way like to yourself, my lord Aragorn, thirty such knights will be a strength that cannot be counted by heads.’

I don't think that many people really get how incredibly honourable was the service and sacrifices of the Dunedain. Zero thanks. No salary. No pension, lands, even a normal family life: All given so that *others* could enjoy these things. Incredible selflessness.
In my opinion, they were probably the Truest of heroes.

Usually, decapitations happen with a sharp blade such as a sword or axe. The fact the The Bullroarer took the orcs head off with a blunt club is wild.
