ETIHAD A380 THE RESIDENCE | World's best First Class flight (phenomenal!)

Join me on a flight in The Residence, the world's most expensive plane "seat". The Residence is a step beyond First Class and the only three-room suite on a passenger aircraft, featuring a private bedroom, ensuite bathroom with shower, and a living room.

The Residence is exclusively available on Etihad Airways’ A380 aircraft on routes between Abu Dhabi, London and New York. In this video, I take you on a 8 hour flight from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow. The video also includes a tour of Etihad's new First Class lounge at Abu Dhabi.

It has been awhile since I have gone on a trip with you but happily I was able to dream of being in this world. As always your video skills are above excellent, the music calming, the view extraordinary and brings the world you are in to your viewers in a way that makes it almost like a virtual trip. Just spectacular!! It has always been a dream of mine to have this experience one day but this will probably be as close as I can get.

I flew with Etihad for years when I lived in the Gulf. I typically flew business class and occasionally got lucky enough to be upgraded to first class on a short connecting flight into Riyadh or Jeddah. Over the years though, it seems that Etihad has made a few cutbacks on service and amenities. For example, years ago, business class passengers were able to receive complimentary spa service in Abu Dhabi Etihad lounges, but then the complimentary spa services were cancelled for business class and only extended to first class. I haven’t kept up to date with Etihad to know if first class passengers could still get complimentary spa service in Abu Dhabi.

So it’s not that surprising to learn that the Residence no longer has a private butler like it used to. I thought it added to a nicer more personalized touch although I’d never be able to afford it.

Don’t get me wrong. Etihad is still a wonderful airline, much better than most. I’ve just noticed changes, not necessarily for the better, in the years I’ve flown with them. Hopefully, when I’m able to fly with Etihad again, they’ll live up to being the airline I fell in love with the first time I traveled with them.

Wow. This is truly one of the most stunning flight accommodations I have ever seen! It really breaks the creative limits of what can be possible in commercial air travel. Anyways, I have long awaited the day that you would finally review the iconic One&Only Reethi Rah! For my personal preference, it sits third on my list to Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani <3 I have dreamed of that resort as well for many years. I am thrilled to say that I will be visiting it in 2026, so knowing that I will get to see it first through one of your lovely tours before I go is a real treat!!

I agree it's one of the best first class products around. It's a shame it's such a short flight. I think it would be an ideal way to spend a 15 hour flight.

With a separate, private bedroom, they should start a Mile High Sky Miles Club. People would have enough miles in no time.

So, going by the video, you didn't fly in The Residence, you just filmed it, is that right? Because it's all quite untouched and First Class appears empty so I assume you flew Business. Or, god forbid, Economy! Having said that, though, it's still quite a stunning space for a SYD-AUH leg.

During covid, when A380s were being deserted, i thought airlines will abandon them but it's good to see A380s back in skies. Earlier, Etihad used to offer complimentary chauffer car to pick you up from hotel or residence, they used to send 2 cars, 1 for luggage second for passengers. Is this service still there or have they removed it? Thanks for this video, had been long time seen an A380! Namaste.

given what has happened in DXB and Dubai in general (this week) I would of loved to of stayed in this business class lounge for 4 days , especially those private pods with the white blinds 4:05

I’ve flown first class on a QANTAS A380 from Melbourne to Dubai but that product completely pales in comparison to Etihad’s First Class let alone The Residence.
