The EliteBook 2570p from HP needs to be quiet since it's a business laptop and business users can't deal with laptops with noisy fans in a meeting room. Here's a test and demo of how the laptop fairs, it's not terribly noisy but under demanding usage the fans will spin up to a level audible over ambient noise in the room.

can you speed up that fan. I think i'l get that laptop for school and it is funny that you are sitting in an silent classroom and a noisy laptop...

Hi you can reduce a bit by bios setting. The thick mark "fan always on" must be unchecked.

my 8460p has a quieter fan, must be because the heatsink is larger, and probably so is the fan(larger fan=more quiet)
