For my first hotswappable keyboard, I agree with you. I bought one recently but decided to pick the pink switches instead of red. It feels more solid and satisfying for me. Just gonna buy the black/grey keycaps later for different looks on the keyboard.

There is something to be said for really basic keyboards. The Phantom+ Elite, which is about $80, has all three modes of connectivity (wired, BT, 2.4), is pre-lubed, and is heavily dampened with foam. It's easily as good as keyboards three times its price for the VAST majority of people, even if the switches are north-facing (because of the RGB).

Have you tried the Veil 87? It's a gasket mounted board that's south-facing and not talked about much.
