They are very similar, a lot of the characters are.

But they aren’t LITERALLY the same. They are more like unique spins on the Overwatch characters.

Or have some minor inspiration from them. Venom isn’t a good example, he swings, and slams, even if you’ve NEVER heard of Overwatch, but you were making a game where you play as venom, swinging around and doing slam attacks would be pretty high up on the ideas list.

Like there isn’t such thing as inspiration and wrecking ball isn’t the first “CC by jumping in the air and knocking everyone up when you land” hell he’s not even the first “swing on a rope” character. They are basically the same, venom just doesnt have a speedboost that turns his weapons off.
And im pretty sure bogur knows what hes talking about and isnt actually serious.
The marvel rivals fanboys complaining about how everyone says their game is plagiarized, while they literally use the exact same abilities with a different coat of paint is very funny to me. Without overwatch, rivals wouldnt exist, so its only natural that abilities and even characters are going to be very similar.
Also its not really a fair comparison to wrecking ball because (right now) he has so much more depth and skill expression than venom

I think what bogur said is 100% fair even if it’s a joke I mean it’s pretty widely expected that marvel rivals has very similar characters to ow like star lord being similar tracer and black panther is similar to genji and venom is similar to ball no one is saying they are 1-1 copies but i think venom having a GRAPPLE A SLAM AND ADAPTIVE SHIELDS and just the same play style of the character makes him pretty fucking similar 😭

Man, I hate overwatch but the similarities (SIMILARITIES) between the characters is still very much there
Hampter (Overwatch)
-Has a Grapple
-Has a slam attack that knocks people into the air
-Has an adaptive shield/over shield
-has form of extra mobility
Venom(Marvel)
-Has a Grapple hook
-Has a slam attack to launch people in the air
-Has an adaptive/over shield
-Has some form of extra mobilty
The only difference is the appearance
Literally same characters but different skins

This is just sad, not much else I can say,
