Pity Doug doesn't give short previews anymore of upcoming reviews. A hint of what's to come was a great idea imo.

I bought a Manual blue Ferrari Mondial T from 1989 and 64000km so about 40k miles just 3 Weeks ago here in Germany! So great Timing reviewing this!
My Mondial T has blue exterieur and baby-blue interieur, now before you tell me that's ugly, it looks surprisingly good on that Car and apparently there are several Mondial Ts with that Combination.

Also Doug, great to see that this Mondial also comes with the Leather Toolkit Bag, mine did too which surprised me.
But one Mystery about my Mondial: Mine also came with an Agip/Ferrari branded black Bag but sadly whatever was in there is missing, i'd love to find out what that was for

As for the key, per Cornes Motors (San Diego's original Ferrari, Rolls-Royce and Bentley Dealer, now gone) the key folded that was to reduce the amount of stress on the ignition IF you had additional keys and key rings attached. Having the hinge reduced the pressure that a Straight Headed key would have from gravity, by brining the attachments closer to the dashboard.

I find the "entry level" Ferrari's (California, Portofino, Mondial), more interesting than the supercars because those are something you can actually use and so I find it more interesting what it's like to live with.

Edit: I wish that faux manual thing you described at 10:20 stuck around. Seems like a good compromise to me. I'm sure it was a servicing nightmare but what Ferrari isn't.

I’ve owned a 87 3.2 cab for the last 3 years and love it! It can hold 4, two adults and 2 children with ease. It is the only 4 seat mid engine convertible to ever be produced and that alone has its merits. I have a performance muffler on mine and it just opens up the experience that much more especially with the top down. I’m glad these cars are finally getting their due credit as was given by Chris Harris in his personal 3.2 cab. How can you go wrong with a Ferrari, gated manual, a full size spare, a usable trunk and room for 4? The maintenance isn’t bad in the earlier cars. The T requires engine out service just like the 348 which shares the same engine. Good luck to the next owner and enjoy it on good health.

Do have a liking for these, for some reason. Mid engine V8 four seat soft top. Just about the right amount of crazy.

My first Fefe was a Mondial 3.2. I loved it. Can be 3 Inside, cost of maintenance not too high, pleasant to drive

I actually really like the Ferrari Mondial. Especially in the convertible body style, I think it's pretty attractive. The side view isn't great, yes it looks like a yellow tabletop from the side, but otherwise it pulls through on most of the design ques from Ferrari in the 80s. I could seriously love this thing if I had it sitting in my garage as my sports car.

I’ve always loved the Mondial and had no idea it wasn’t the “cool” Ferrari until someone told me that. The funny thing is that I’d rather have that Mondial over the new California all day long. Great video and thanks for paying homage to a real cool car from a great era! 👍

My dad had one of these when I was a kid so I've always had a soft spot for the Mondial. Very happy to see it get some praise for once :)

You should have concentrated on its handling. The handling is immense. I have both the Mondial T and 328 and it handles way better, like its on rails. Bonus fact... it remains the world's only 4 seater mid-engined cabriolet/convertible. Name me another if you can.

As recently as the 2010’s people hated the Dino (much like the Mondial) and nice examples were selling for 30k, try finding one for that price now. My point being the Mondial will have its time to shine soon as well, of that I’m sure.

I fell in love with this Ferrari in the movie ‘Weird Science” (also that 928). The next time was when, fellow Canadian, Micheal J. Fox bought one new… once he began making some of that ‘Hollywood’ kinda money. Thanks for the video.

If you love a car, the least of your worries should be what others think of it. I always liked the Mondial, but I would choose for a coupe

Came real close to getting one of these in the early 2000's with low miles for about 25k. Ultimately passed, but always liked the idea of an affordable Ferrari!

I would absolutely love to hear Doug’s thoughts on the automatic transmission for this car, this is the first I’ve heard of it!

These always remind me of my brother in law. Mainly because he took the opportunity to get in one and drive it away after the owner left the keys in it at a petrol station. Thankfully he's a reformed character these days.

Love it. Gorgeous and practical, just enough straight edge styling and very practical. Great video Doug. Thanks

I’ve owned several Ferrari’s now. I had a 348 for about fifteen years. I have a beautiful 08 F430 spider at the moment. I don’t mind the look of this car at all. I’d be happy to own this. Another thing, the Dino variant engine in this Ferrari is glorious sounding.

I've always really liked the mondial actually, really like the styling (of the coupe I must admit) and the mid engine v8 with the dog leg manual is very ferrari. Obviously a lovely interior so i am very fond of these cars
