The question asked here was- how many gurus can a person have?

Om Swami says that in our Sanatan dharma one worships many gods, similarly, a person can have any number of gurus. He says, no relationship should be built on obligation and especially not something as sacred as a guru-disciple relationship. He says that when he initiates someone, he firstly connects them to his lineage and when he takes on a disciple he takes on their spiritual and karmic responsibility too. If the disciple wishes, he then guides them on the path of sadhana. He takes them through all the seven steps, without letting go of them midway if they have followed all his instructions diligently. He says people should think clearly before asking for initiation as sometimes with time people’s views can change and they may want something different. So, that is why sometimes he asks some people to wait for years before giving them even the first step.

At the time of getting diksha from a renowned organisation, I didn't feel any connection with my Guru, as 120 disciples were initiated at one time, and we get matra through loudspeaker, after that I have no touch with Him, may be that's why I am not attached to Him mentally, I am very much confused about what to do for my progress, please help, Pranam

People like us nowadays just want to have a guru but ourselves don't put full effort to become worthy of having a guru.

Patrata khud mein honi chahiye pehle. One has to prove that they are worthy of becoming a disciple.
