Bullying now is a lot more about public humiliation. Its very psychological and its about shaming people infront of their peers. As someone who was bullied in school, I think this has a longer lasting impact than just physical bullying which is definitely still around, maybe just to a lesser degree

As a young teacher (early 20s), I can contest that school now is so wild. These children just be all over the place. I remember sitting down on the bus and talking with friends, now these kids be trying to stand while the bus is driving and their mouths are so reckless. I remember when it was taboo to curse or say certain words now, these kids say it wide in the open in front of whoever and whenever. Just wild! 😅

Nearly everybody had morals in the past. Thats what we currently lack as people.

All the things that you described are the problems that I’m glad my high school here in Spain doesn’t have. Yes, just like other schools in Europe, you were right about how there is no scholastic book fair anymore unless it is in primary school and how there have been cases of students vaping in the bathrooms which made entering them to be forbidden before exam week, but everyone here has a dress code which doesn’t let all students wear crop tops in class or any Euphoria themed clothes that you described, which explains why students that don’t wear uniform, once they reach Sophomore year, dress up like characters that could’ve been in Equestria Girls. Thank you so much for covering the topic of high school that I never talked about. In conclusion, there are things that my high school has been keeping since the 2000s that American schools don’t have anymore, such as loyal high school couples or seeing a short student do a slam dunk after years of not participating in PE.

5:53 shockingly my school still has all of that. The toys, the books, hell even the lego books with lego in them

I think the major reason for this is the over-sexualization of almost everything. And as a generation, gen z has been told that sex is just that, sex, and that it has nothing to do with commitment of valuing and loving one another. So what happens? Everyone just devalues relationships, commitments, all that jazz, because nobody is held accountable anymore. That's just my take, but there's so much more to it, too, the entire sociopolitical change over the past couple decades has deeply messed up how we engage with one another.

THIS MAN SPEAKS FACTS ABOUT SCHOOL NOW, society changed and I don't fit into it, school is so different now and I have to deal with it in this time zone.

I just graduated this past July and honestly I feel like I just escaped a building that's about to collapse. I've spent the last 3 years doing cyber school instead of in-person but I have younger siblings and cousins who are still in attendance. These kids are just a whole new breed now. The fact that, as a parent, you send your child to school and they could come back beaten bloody from a fight, feening for drugs they were peer pressured into trying, or revealing the fact that they're a soon-to-be parent. Kids are not taught to have any morals. For those of us who came out of school normal... We didn't graduate, we survived. I know it sounds dramatic but this issue is very underplayed.

High schools have more characters than a sitcom

*grandpa sits me down on the couch* “let me tell you a story, a story of a time when the public bathroom was somewhat mediocre” he says. “No way!” I shout.

My mother a Guidance counselor said they caught students have sex in the cafeteria. Apparently other kids were covering/ being in the way. That is just genuinely awkward and nasty. I went to a super small school, stuff like that just didn’t happen. Our big problems were chewing tobacco and kids accidentally bringing guns to school because they were hunting. Now there are fights, drugs, and vapes that kids can’t put down.

I’m 17 and my viewpoint has been off compared to most. Other teens being obsessed with social media, other teens obsessed with other peoples relationships and their past relationships, I can’t even go to the bathroom in peace during passing time between classes because there be like 4 or 5 guys just hanging around in the bathrooms and not even using the bathrooms. Socializing has become a downward spiral as well. I wish it was the late 1990s and early 2000s a time where social media didn’t have so much of a impact in society really.

I want to assure everyone that my school still does the book fair and still has mystery ink pens and pointers

I've just graduated HS a few months ago, and knowing everything now, I agree with the stuff said, especially with the sexualization aspect. I am especially fearful of getting into a genuine relationship, especially as an autistic guy, because of the amount of hoping around and crazy shit my generation does. I am very worried to say the least.
