Our 1st service today is a study based in Deuteronomy Chapter 9 about Righteousness . Our 2nd Service is our study of The Book of Yahusha (Joshua) Chapters 14-16
Yahusha (Joshua) translates from Hebrew to mean "YEHOVAH saves"
Scholars believe that Joshua (Yahusha) himself or a scribe under his direction penned most of the book.
Timeline: The events of the book of Yahusha (Joshua) span about twenty-five years, starting soon after the death of Moses (Joshua 1:1) around 1406 BC. The conquest of Canaan took about seven years, and Yahusha/Joshua’s final address came almost twenty years later. The book begins with the nation of Israel poised at the banks of the Jordan River, across from Jericho. It records the details of numerous military campaigns that defeated the inhabitants of the land. The book ends with Joshua’s (Yahusha's) regathering of the nation for his final exhortation.
Why is this book important?
The book of Joshua/Yahusha records the culmination of Israel’s journey to the Promised Land. We see YEHOVAH fulfill HIS promise to give the land of Canaan to Jacob’s descendants. Joshua/Yahusha portrays The Father (god) as their general, the ONE who would lead HIS people in victorious battle if they would trust and obey.
Yahusha/Joshua recounts a story of contradictions. On the one hand, Yehovah (God) gave the land that HE had promised to the nation. On the other hand, the people failed to possess the land completely, allowing some inhabitants to remain. Yehovah our Father (God) fulfilled HIS side of the bargain, but the Israelites did not finish the job. The Canaanite peoples became a damaging influence on Israel.
The Aaronic Blessing (Bemidbar (Numbers) 6: 24-26):
22 And Yehovah spoke unto Mosheh, saying:
23 Speak unto El־Aharon and unto his sons, saying, in this way you will exalt the sons of Yashar’el, saying unto them, Yehovah will kneel before you presenting gifts and will guard you with a hedge of protection.Yehovah will illuminate the wholeness of his being toward you bringing order and he will give you comfort and sustenance. Yehovah will lift up his wholeness of being and look upon you and he will set in place all you need to be whole and complete.
