Ok, korean student here. This isn't completely wrong, but it is. So in most middle schools, an A is 90 or above, a B is 80 or above, and so on, but in high schools, it's not like this, there are different "levels" currently there are 5 levels, 1 2 3 4 5. And for each levels there is a maximum amount of students, so like only 5% can get "level" 1 and so on. Even if you get a 95 you have a possibility to only get "level" 2 or even 3 (though in most high school the exams are so hard that the average is around 30 percent or if the exam was easy its around 40 percent, this differs by each school tho)
Edit: also anything below an A is basically a fail

In Korea, if ur in a competitive school, (like main parts of Seoul) letter grades don’t matter as much as America. People base it off of like your ranking in school, so if you have an A but if you placed like 200 in terms of overall everything, that A doesn’t really matter cuz ppl just think u suck

In asian homes, anything lower than a 100% is considered a failure 😂

In some countries, a 74% is considered a failing grade. But in others, it's actually pretty good!

you know, it’s real shame that in many places around the world kids are only seen as grades and nothing more. but no governments want to address it. the school system in america and in other places are broken.

Bro i got a 74 in indonesia here and failed, its not as bad as you think, asia is just a wild af place in school terms. In grade 4, we stay at school for at least 7-8 hours. So i think that if you get used to it, it wont be a problem. PLUS 75 isnt a D, its a C

That’s honestly why I love the Dutch education system. It’s leveled to your degree, so all passing grades are good enough.
