The title is misleading :) - It’s an over simplified deep dive into fashion business landscape partly because people often don’t understand complexity - YouTube videos can only go into that much detail.

Of course, It’s unfair to compare brands across the price spectrum precisely because they are different models which the video tries to examine.

Overall, genuine effort to declutter the space.

Mate, I'm from the fashion industry and let's get some of your facts cleared, as you have mentioned when Zara sells a shirt for 5k they make a profit of 2k. let's say you are correct in this case to produce 10000 units Zara has to spend 3cr on just 1 style. You didn't consider garments that they have to sell at a discount. let's say that particular style didn't sell well and they have to sell it at a 50% discount making a loss of Rs.500 per shirt. think about it...
The garment business is interesting but very difficult to make a profit.
You have compared Zara with Snitch, yes snitch sells it chapter but then their overall quality is also cheap. My personal experience- I Bought a shirt from snitch and in the description it was mentioned cotton but it turned out to be cheap polyester, it was as good as wearing a polybag.

Zara is more of a Premium brand. Gucci, Versace, Prada etc are Luxury Brands. Most examples presented here are brands that are premium brands and not luxury brands. Given the Indian context we now have a need to create differentiators so just prefix Mass to premium and voila you’ve got a new category

4:51 fashion isnt number's game my friend... suppose if one brand sells 100 product and gets a profit of Rs 2000 per unit, then 100 x 2000 = Rs but if you want to get that figure with more product with less profit margin, then it would be 1000 x 200 = practically both figures look same, but in reality, to maintain 100 product in a warehouse you will need less warehouse space, less manpower, less transport, and less equipment... which means you need less money to maintain the products, if you have to compare it with 1000 products... so you cant actually compare it quantity wise

Bro, lol, you’re seriously comparing Zara to Snitch? Just take a look at the Zara articles they focus on design and fit. Zara’s boxy fit is effortlessly cool, while Snitch is still stuck with the same old regular fits. Sure, you can show off the same checkered shirt, but when you actually wear both, you’ll notice which one falls better on the body. And let’s be real, Snitch is just copying anyway. Even Urban Monkey is better; at least they’ve carved out their own niche. Slap “Urban Monkey” on something, and it still looks cool. 👀👀👀
