Equality of opportunity is at the heart of Transport for the North's approach - opening up access to jobs and leisure across the region - but it's important that alongside the investment we are calling for, the system is as accessible as possible.

For this session, we brought together a panel to discuss what needs to be done to make this a reality, and what the current barriers are to achieving this.

---
Our expert panel included:
• Stephen Brookes MBE | Rail Sector Champion (Panel Chair)
• Michael Paul | Head of Advice & Information, Disability Rights UK
• Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson | Former Paralympian and Crossbench Peer
• Caroline Young | Senior Project Manager, Transport for the North
• Catherine Folca | Stakeholder Manager, Transport Focus

Transport for the North is England's first Sub-national Transport Body. It was formed to transform the transport system across the region, providing the infrastructure needed to drive economic growth.
TfN is making the case for pan-Northern strategic transport improvements, and its Strategic Transport Plan (STP) will rebalance decades of underinvestment and transform the lives of people in the North.
