That statue should be replaced by a statue of Pres Abraham Lincoln. We don't see enough of them anyhow.

Texas Monthly article about two self described good boys who believe they bring genuine hope and idealism to the UT Austin campus also used words such as mavericks and reformers to describe themselves - well, I have three labels that fit them better, “ISIS, al-Qaeda and the Taliban.’  All three of these also like to destroy, remove, and denounce art, statues and likenesses of things from the past they find offensive.  The Buddas of Bamiyan, the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud, the statues at the Mosul museum…all destroyed because a handful of guys find them offensive.  To quote another RotMan interview the Davis statue is a ‘slap in the face’ and needs to be removed.  Sounds a lot like ISIS to me.  How fitting that the guys who ran as a joke treat history as a joke to be rearranged.  What will they get rid of next?  Will they go after the Vietnam Memorial because somewhere in this world people may find this wall offensive?  A slap in the face?  Want to know what I find offensive?  People who are incessantly trying to tell me who I am, what I am, how I should think, what I should say, and how much of my income to fork over for public use…did I just describe two mavericks from Austin or did I just describe the Taliban?  What next?  They start tossing people off of roof tops whose lifestyles they disagree with?
