HERCULES is the animation movie by Ron Clements.

PLOT: Disney tackles Greek mythology in this animated feature. Hercules (Tate Donovan), a son of gods, was snatched as a baby by Hades (James Woods) and forced to live among mortals as a half-man, half-god. Now a teenager, Hercules needs to perform a rite of passage on Earth to prove himself worthy of living with the gods on Mount Olympus. With his plucky satyr sidekick, Philoctetes (Danny DeVito), along for the ride, Hercules must learn how to use his strength to defeat a series of evil creatures.

Pain and Panic wearing Herc sandals and drinking Hercules juice strongly implies the duo are not really evil. Like Meg it is implied they were simply forced to do his bidding but unlike Meg they only do so out of fear while Meg had to as payback.

If anyone was looking for the perfect illustration of what the term "Disneyfication" means, it's in this film. Megara, who in the foundational Greek myths married Hercules, bore him several sons, and was then murdered by her husband (together with all their children) when he was in a fit of madness sent by Hera, here becomes a cartoon-Greek version of Pinky Tuscadero -- complete with happy ending.
