It’s interesting that Chinese CEOs are NOT afraid to acknowledge their competitors and sometimes invite them to events (He was at the Xiaomi SU7 reveal).

In the U.S. it’s not “cool” to talk about other CEOs even though they all go to the same private events and have membership at the same clubs.

Which is the other company reaching level 3 ADAS without Lidars? Tesla, without ultrasonic sensors, car only achieve level 2.3 or perhaps level 2.4. They achieved only ADAS level 2.6, before removing expensive sensors and without having cars equiped with Lidars. Perhaps that Waymo share daten with Tesla to allow them continuing developing autonomous driving without missing accurate detection of objects....EJFJ Positive Contextualisation has been illicitly blocked!

I’m not an engineer, I wonder if Xpeng can develop a steering wheel and accelerator/break paddles that allows driver to switch between left to right and back to left. I presume most modern EVs do not use much mechanical parts, like intermediate shaft and universal joint as compared to ICE cars, so I guess it can be done without much additional cost. The benefit of having this option is that you can launch the same model of EV for both left-hand and right-hand drive’s countries at the same time without the need to wait for a year or two before you decide to launch such EV for right-hand-drive markets. In terms of production and inventory, you don’t need to produce two versions for one EV model. In addition, it will benefit drivers from Europe when they drive your EVs to UK, and likewise for drivers from Hong Kong/Macau when they drive your EVs to China. Please note that it’s not safe to drive a left-handed-drive vehicle on a road designed for right-handed-drive.

Tesla announced fsd in Eorope by years end and rhd markets Q1 or Q2. Here in Australia with its rural roads its not likely fsd from tesla or anyone will be usable in these areas for years to come. Xpeng is compting on price and comfort features in Australia which is a good strategy for buywrs to take a risk on a new brand.

Das Problem bei chinesischen Firmen ist meist das sie mehr versprechen als sie eigentlich bieten. Die einzig gute Erfahrung habe ich mit insta 360 gemacht wobei die Haltbarkeit auch nicht so prickelnd war. Derzeit benutze ich ein Red mi Smartphone da mir die Ladeleistung der Samsung ultra Geräte mittlerweile so auf den Keks geht. Mal schauen wie lange das Smartphone hält. Die Kooperation mit VW empfinde ich als sehr gut! Die Batterien der Chinesen und deren kosteneffizienz bekommt kaum einer so hin! Wenn man die chinesische Batterietechnologie mit einem Golf paaren kann und dazu noch eine simple und funktionierende Software hineinpackt, dann geht es auch wieder aufwärts. Schaut man sich die TÜV Prüfberichte an, dann muss man einfach sagen das VW mit unter als bester abschneidet. VW Elektrofahrzeuge sind effizient und halten... Nur die Batterietechnik und Software ist grausam. Wenn man die anfälligen Motoren nun durch Elektro ersetzt, sollte VW auch wieder an die Spitze kommen! Falls ich mal die Möglichkeit habe mir einen xpeng anzuschauen werde ich es sicherlich tun ^^
