The Reason why they chose to release it on November 21 is because the release date of the original games(Ruby and Sapphire) was on November 21, 2002. Pokemon is Awesome!

a 3d remake of my favorite generation? This will determine if I play X and Y.

Comparing this reveal to the recent diamond and pearl trailer i know the real problem with the gen4 remakes.

The real problem is that they don't show anything new or exciting. Oras displayed new areas, new designs, new mega evolutions, new primal forms as well as hints that its a new story.

Brilliant diamond and Shining Pearl show that its just a remake not a reimagining like Oras just a remake there's nothing new all it presented was the return of the shrinking player and that's it just not that interesting. Also in a way ruined the ambiguous Eterna City statue where if you put palkia's color pallette on it its palkia and Dialga's pallette its Dialga and just shows its a fusion in which if they're gonna reveal a new set of pokefusions they should have hinted it in the announcement trailer and not wait until the summer to show off the new features. What gen4 remakes needed to do was not be hd 60 frame only sunsets game and instead display new content, like
-return of old features like zmoves or mega evolutions,
-show updated designs of old characters not reuse their old designs
-display hints of a new story
-basically anything to stand out not be the exact same game
