Reminiscing my childhood days makes me end up crying . I miss my Mom and Dad on how they took care for us when we were very, very young and a lot of happy moments with them.. I’m at a Disney hotel tonight trying to fall asleep before I begin my dream trip with my best friend and service dog! This is my first time traveling without my parents and I’m kind of nervous about how this trip is going to go but I’m REALLY excited and ready for this adventure.

I close my eyes when I listen to this and dream of the Disneyland I knew as a child. When my single mom used to save up enough to take me for my birthday, and it was so special because it was a rare occasion I could look forward to every once and a while. Where everything was magical and nothing hurt. I don't remember everything about my first trip when I turned 9, but I remember the excitement and awe. Pirates with mom is still my happy place- back when Disney felt like magic and less corporate. ✨️ I go to Universal now as an adult, because that childhood Disney feeling is gone... but it lives on in moments like this. Is it just me that gets emotional listening to this? I’m not old by any means, but it makes me miss being a kid. I didn’t have the best childhood, my stepdad was abusive and my mom and him separated when I was only 9. Growing up, I didn’t really get to experience a childhood because my stepdad didn’t help raise my siblings and my mom was always at work. So being the oldest, I had to step up. Even if I was only 5/6. Disney was my comfort place though, and finally I got to go at 14. I may not got to see the “magic” in it, but it was still so fun and this heals my inner child. Being a child, life should be carefree and not worry about the world ahead. You’re still innocent. When I have kids, I really want to give them the best life.
