Game Informer Has Been SHUT DOWN | My Thoughts

There's two main problems one people don't need to go to the magazine to get information on games anymore.
2nd. People don't want to pay for physical media subscriptions more than they have to

Out of the big outlets gamer informer was the one I remember sticking to informing gamers... It's a shame they were the first ones to go. I used to hear their podcasts years ago.

I honestly forgot about game informer but seeing all these headlines that its closing made me have flashbacks of flipping a though them as a kid haha

*I wouldn't be surprised to see Rockstar buy the rights to the GI name and release their own version of the magazine. Rockstar has never truly had a voice or way to talk directly to the people, let them know what's happening behind the walls. GI would be the perfect outlet and moniker for that....and an opportunity for them to taunt their rivals all over the industry 😂 its a new day, its time for new tactics* 💀

I stopped subscribing last year bc I didn't really like the changes they made. They weren't terrible, just didn't speak to me like the older issues. Still, sucks to hear they're gone now.

I never thought this was happen this was the one part of GameStop that would never go away but GameStop is dumb this was the one thing that could keep them in business imo cuz people love those books people collect the Nintendo power books and shit like that

I will miss Game Informer. Unfortunately, they hired too many Marcus Stewart type personalities that were so overtly political they alienated much of their customer base.

I adore print media, and had a subscription to GI (digital ) however, considering their biased shilling for DATV, and other articles I've read, I don't have any sympathy here. They were, at least recently, feeling a lot less like independent journalists, and more like pay to play players.
