Original video edited and AI remastered with HQ stereo sound.
"These Eyes" is a song by the Canadian rock band The Guess Who. The song was co-written by the group's lead guitarist Randy Bachman and lead singer Burton Cummings and originally included on the band's 1969 album Wheatfield Soul. It was first released as a single (backed by "Lightfoot"), in their native Canada, where its chart success (#7), along with the influence of CKLW-AM Windsor's radio station music director Rosalie Trombley, helped land them a U.S. distribution deal with RCA Records. It was then released in the U.S. in March 1969, and became a breakthrough success for the group, as it would be their first single to reach the top ten on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, peaking at number six, and would eventually be certified gold by the RIAA for sales of over one million copies. It was also a top ten hit in South Africa. While it was actually the 18th single released by the band overall, it was the first from the line-up of Cummings, Bachman, Jim Kale, and Garry Peterson as produced by Jack Richardson.

The Guess Who was the first concert I went to in 1971. My brother let me take his VW van to the concert and my life was never the same and for the better, naturally.

I'm 63 years old and still love this song after all these years. Burton's voice was so powerful and the band stood out with their own signature sound. I feel lucky when I listen to the rock music produced in America. Great artists produced it and gave it to us all to listen to on the radio. When I was just eleven years old my brother had his first car and I remember him and I driving somewhere with the radio cranked up. I felt like my soul was singing along with the artist we were listening to. Thanks, Burton and Randy Bachman and all the artists that gave so much. The wealth you made was well worth the joy you gave.

My Father was born in Toronto in 1959. I was born in Toronto in 1992. Listened to the Guess Who from the age of 8. Saw Burton perform at Rama in 2023. My kids, too, will grow up listening to the finest Canadian music. Good health and a long life to all.
