This is my 2nd HP soap video. I am making Oatmeal, Milk & Honey soap.

Here is a recipe that I found online, you can exchange oils if you like just; run it though a lye calculator before proceeding with the recipe:

Did you add the stearic acid, or did you drop it out? I know my Palm has stearic acid in it.
I really love your vids. Thanks so much for them! Your first HP video gave me the courage to give it a try.

No, there isn't Milk in the recipe. The name of the Fragrance oil used was Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. Thanks for your question.

No, you don't. You can use an oven-safe pot in the oven on a low setting like 200 Degrees. I also know some people that have used a cook top, but I would be VERY caution especially with a gas cook top. Thanks for the comment!

Very informative video. I love the way you explain everything and how easy you make it look

Thanks for your comment, we can agree that soap-making can be dangerous, but if you take the necessary precautions then it can be a safe and enjoyable experience. Secondly, I do allow my Lye to sit and cool while the oils melt, so I am not using extra hot lye with extra hot oil.

Your videos are very informative and enjoyable to watch . I've never made hot processed soap before. Maybe I'll make a batch:)

I have a an extreme question. How would you say you spend exactly on each batch of soap that you make. How many bars do you get out of each batch?

I am trying to create my own little soap company and sell them as a living. Most of the soaps out there have horrible chemicals that do more harm than good..

Thank you :D

@MrMfloor Yes, you did, I believe when I added the Honey to the soap, since the soap was very hot at the time, it started to sizzle.

@IereBabe It will depend on your crock pot as some may be hotter than others, but normally it take my soap about 1.5 hrs to cook from start to finish.

I do get my food grade lye from Essential Depot. I just thought it would be worth trying getting something locally.

@IereBabe For the most part any CP recipe can be used for HP, but I would "tweek" the CP recipe if it has more that 40% solid oils/butters because I find that HP soap perform better when there is a higher percentage of liquid oils. For example 30% Olive Oil 15% Rice Bran 25% Palm Oil 15% Coconut Oil 10% Soybean Oil 5% Castor is something that I would use for HP. Thanks for watching! Happy Soaping :)

@barstowmama Yes, Goat's milk soap will work, but, do some more research as you may have to so a 1/2 water 1/2 goat milks and add the goats milk at the end of the cook, to prevent scorching the milk.

As long as it's 100% caustic soda it's fine. Just check the label; some drain cleaners have other stuff added and should be avoided, but if there are no additives there's no reason not to buy it.

Hi this is Regina, I make handmade soaps CP mainly, i do once in awhile do HP bought as a personal opinion i really don't like HP, bc i use a lot of goats milk in my soaps and i had used goats milk before in HP and no matter how low u put your setting it's going to burn the milk, bc goats milk is really fat.. so i would just stay with your H20 it works way better.. but i stay with CP process anyways, HP would be used if you need it right away, i don't, but i let mine CP cure for 3 wks.. good lk.
