NEW Tesla Model Y hits UK showrooms - first look in RHD walk around.

The latest Tesla Model Y (often referred to as the Juniper Refresh) has just arrived in UK showrooms ahead of customer deliveries which are due to commence in June 2025

Standard Range which is RWD, Long Range rear-wheel drive and Long Range dual motor will be offered. A Performance model later presumably.

The quality is a real next step, it feels very premium and easily enough to compete with German manufacturers and Polestar cabin spaces.

This is a my first look at the Juniper in person so will share what I’ve been able to see and find out so far, highlighting some of the differences compared to the outgoing model.

Europe’s number 1 selling car just got better!

Built in Berlin with 92% parts from Europe. VW is hoping to get to 80% parts in EU on their EVs by 2030. So likely they are only at 60-70% currently. Thus, a Tesla Model Y is the most European EV you can buy.

This will likely be our next car in about 6 months. It is such a damn good car! I hope they will add new batteries to both Model 3/Y this year. We need faster charging on these things!

The regen has an additional mode to blend regen with the pedal. Apparently it has brake by wire with 2 master cylinders.

Always amazed at the longevity of Tesla seats, looking new after 60, 000 miles in examples I’ve seen. Not sure if the perforated will stay looking good for so long without going saggy 🤔
Time will tell I guess.

I’ve got a one year old Model 3 ( Highlander) now with circa 12, 000 miles on the clock. Basic single motor rwd. I really like it, it’s my first EV, first TESLA. I’ve previously owned many a BMW so know what ‘brand dislike’ (not hate) feels like on the road but recently I’m convinced that other drivers now hate TESLAS and show it. Makes me nervous.

They still need to do a couple of things, illuminate the door handles which can be a pain to find in the dark on a dark coloured car. Also illuminate the charging port
