I m from India . I remember we had this tree in our garden at my grandma's place . These fruits were so big in size . My grandma used to scoop out the inner part and dry the outer shell and use it as containers . Specially to store salt and all.
Feeling so nostalgic looking at this fruit. I never saw one after the tree at my Grandma's place was cut down!

Hi in some carribean cuntry we call this fruit calabash, many years ago it was as a kitchen utensils. It was used when the outside is dry, dark brown in color It's then cut in half the inner was scooped out and then the 2 halfs was used as a utensils for drink water or eating food. This practice is no longer popular in some countries. Very eco friendly and environmental safe. 😊

in my area, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This fruit is made into handicrafts in the form of spoons/forks, soap dishes, bathroom ladles, lampshades, etc. I have never seen this fruit to be eaten.😊

In India, we cook it as vegetable when tender. It's a very healthy vegetable. When ripe the skin gets hardened and can be used as utensils.

In my country it is called Güira, there are about 4 varieties of this fruit. It has many uses, one of them, the Güira Cimarrona is for women's fertility, a remedy that the elderly usually make to help women who cannot conceive. It is very effective. My great-grandmother had 10 children.. the bark of this Fruit is used to make musical instruments such as maracas and it was also used to make decorations, or vessels. I am from Cuba, a Caribbean country, I currently live in India and the truth is that it is difficult to find this fruit here.

One of many fruits thats filled with nutrients, and one of many that needs to be cooked to turn into a drink, altho it can be SUPREMELY BITTER AS CONSUMED IN LIQUID OR FLESH some miracle fruits can be very sweet or mildly sweet and sour, there is also a version of a miracle fruit that is very tiny and is colored pink, when eaten, almost many things you eat tastes sweet
