Hello everyone! in this week's video I am drawing my original characters into alternate universes or opposite genres! I am going to take my OC Pariah from her fantasy world and place her in a modern-day human city. For my webcomic, My Next-door Neighbors, I am going to take it from a slice of life/drama comic to a thriller comic! I am creating these illustrations in Clip Studio Paint.

I can imagine it being a psychological horror focusing on someone with extreme social anxiety thus seeing people in a disturbing way

Ohh I love this concept! Another thing that would be really cool would be to draw your narrative OCs as if they existed in the universe of a different group of OCs -- like Doris in I Want To Be a Magical Girl or Pariah as an animal hybrid in your story with Raelynn and Owen! And building off your idea for a thriller of MNDN, it could be a battle royale/killing game-type story where the characters are trapped in the apartment and are being forced into a Hunger Games kind of scenario (and because it's the opposite of the original story Zeke could actually be a good person FJDJFKDIFNFKWM) Of you're worried about losing detail when you blur your illustrations to add depth, maybe you could achieve the same effect by having flat colors going from lighter to darker values depending on whether you want to emphasize the background or foreground -- I know Mark Crilley employs this to a great effect!

I adore when you go outside of your comfort zone and make something more dark. To me its more enjoyable than when edgy people do it. I hate horror myself but its always so fun when you mix your cute style with something edgier
