No point building houses if they still cost 500k

Why not renovate preexisting housing estates and letting people move there?

Heavy Tax on the households that own more than one residence. Ban AirBnB. Tax foreign owners of real estate. Canary Wharf and London north bank is owned by wealthy Arabs.

It's not about building more houses, it's about putting restrictions on renting properties. There are entire companies built on purchasing properties and renting them out, which then drives prices up.

Yup, lots of price gouging going on, AirBnB, foreign takeover on housing, corporations purchasing vast swaths of housing and keeping their prices at a premium.

In simple terms of supply and demand there's more than enough but convoluted business and governmental practices have made these prices skyrocket, and Ioads of people are being pushed into poverty as a result, not to mention young people don't really fancy having kids in a rental flat.

There is a heck of a difference between 25 and a 34 year old ?

Don't build more without renovating & making use of existing buildings!🙄

Let’s be honest with ourselves here. The government don’t want to see people independent and own their own homes. The prices are extremely expensive and lenders don’t want to loan the money needed for the value of these houses. Regarding deposits (given the current situation), it’s almost impossible for someone to save up £30K (average deposit needed); especially if someone is renting. Social housing barely exists anymore in the UK and the ones available are usually family houses. This doesn’t cater to the changing demographics where most young people are single, without children. It is honestly appalling how our government carries on in this country; yet we have money to be dishing out to Ukraine, Israel, etc. For what? To create more refugees… Make it make sense!

That's like in Brazil. In the next month there will be rules more toughs for who wants to buy a home (in this case, apartments because house properly always was hard to buy). They are already expensive, but in addition the prices are getting high, the interest rates are also going up and is necessary at least 50% of home value to get a financing contract. I've got my own one, but to the youngest will be a challenge.

We need to help young people to get into homes!! We don’t need unnecessary homelessness!! It’s time for the price of housing to drop to the level we were paying in the 1950s!!
