RIP Robert. This theme signalled us for top notch news coverage, and I can remember this theme on in the evenings. The era of authoritative news coverage has officially ended.

Well, I'm glad I've found the classic PBS NEWS HOUR opening theme.

The previous version in the ‘70s has a more casual/popular sound, the evolution to this one similar to that of abc world news tonight, Jeopardy & espn sportscenter where great use of classical instruments like violin
