I’m so glad they didn’t go with the original concept design. The Bolin we got is perfect and infinitely better 😭 had him looking like a Botw Hylian

So glad they changed the design. Bolin was already a bit too much comic relief, he'd be a complete joke with that look and likely wouldn't have gotten the kind of development he did.

And while I don't like him with Zhu Li, I hate even more that Zhu Li ended up with the abusive Varrick.

I feel like the idea of Toph's original design is so vague at this point. Supposedly, not only was Bolin based on it, but so was the Boulder, Roku's Earthbending teacher, and the actor who played Toph. The actor who played Toph makes sense, since it's an obvious reference. But, I really don't see how Bolin fits with the design like the other three do. The other three are huge, hulking muscly beasts of men, while Bolin is just a mildly chunky boy. I really don't think that's the same as Toph's original design. The other three, I see it, just because they're all HUGE dudes with muscles on their muscles. Faces are different, obviously. But, the other three at least have more in common.
