Fifteen years of verite footage show the epic rivalry between half-pipe legends Shaun White and Kevin Pearce, childhood friends who become number one and two in the world leading up to the Vancouver Winter Olympics, pushing one another to ever more dangerous tricks, until Kevin crashes on a Park City half-pipe, barely surviving. As Kevin recovers from his injury, Shaun wins Gold. Now all Kevin wants to do is get on his snowboard again, even though medics and family fear this could kill him. We also celebrate Sarah Burke who crashed in Park City and died January 19, 2012.

Top notch film about a top notch dude. It takes courage to snowboard like Kevin, but it takes even more courage to set aside who you've always been and say to yourself "okay, I can't be that guy anymore. I have to be someone else now." That might sound deciding to some people, but man, from where I'm sitting, it's a privilege to be anyone at all.

Snowboarding is a passion of mine but also got me some problems, have 6 surgeries, all different parts of my body, the hardest being last year when I fractured 3 vertebrae. I came back last month after not riding for 14 months, 5th day I try some stupid stuff, fuckin meniscus broken, minor, but have to go to surgery next week.
Yesterday a friend that I haven't seen for like a year told me when I told him about all this stuff "men, you will end up like the guy from that snowboarding movie", asked him "what movie!?" and he didn't know the name of it.
Did my research and here I am.
Sorry if I make you read and it's not worth it. I don't use to post this kind of long things about me on the internet. But this touched my heart, I almost cried like 5 times haha, and I think I have never cried watching a movie.

I suffered a mild TBI after a car accident last year; since then I've had problems with my vision and balance, and have had to wear prism eyeglasses like Kevin's. I was so inspired by this story; it motivates me to not give up, keep looking forward and stay strong. I am so glad I stumbled on this while channel flipping!

Holy crap, I'm teary-eyed just watching the trailer. My first time on a board was 1989. I don't ride as much as I used to, but once it's in your blood, it never goes away.
