“If you can’t care for an animal properly then don’t get an animal” I wish this was taught as a mainstream view it would make the world a better place

It's commendable that you're waiting until you know you're ready.
We can't wait to see the pup(s) when you're ready to get them ❤

Absolutely wonderful to see someone with a proper idea of not only a livestock guardian dog as a whole but bringing in an lgd puppy and what it takes to properly socialize with lots of smaller animals! Great content as always!

Nate, you give thought and consideration to every plan you make. It’s so refreshing to see your methods as you maneuver your way to your final goal.

thank you so much for being a responsible pet daddy nate! so many people just go out and get a animal on impulse..(this is how iv got a load of my pets as people i know get the said animal and then "realise" they dont have time for them) as you say a LSGD needs a LOT of your time

love you guys ❤❤

I applaud the care and respect you show animals and thank you for being a responsible pet owner. There are far too many people that get pets but shouldn't because they do not value their pets and do not give them proper training, diet, exercise and affection.

It’s sad he has to be applauded for just doing what’s right, just goes to show especially on places like YouTube, there can be a lot disregard and ignorance.

Taking care of animals is a huge commitment

Thank you for being an amazing animal friend! Minion proves you know what you're doing with the animals in your care. It's the main thing that draws me to your content, honestly. There aren't a lot of creators with integrity, so thank you for sharing your life with us! 🥰

Our Border Collie 3/4 -1/4Australian cattle dog was the sweetest smartest dog we've ever had
With the exception of our Blue Healer baby girl... Those 3 breeds are the smartest dogs in the world... Black LAB'S are also awesome loyal and sweet dogs as well if you don't have chickens or Ducks especially.

Llamas are actually exceptional guard animals. I had both llamas and alpacas growing up. Low maintenance, easy integration, and they fend of snakes too

I have had dogs my whole life. A couple of years ago my dog had a reaction to flea and tick medicine, she was in bad shape for several months before I made the decision to end her suffering. She was so much a part of my family that I just couldn’t replace her. Now though I would really like to find a puppy that needs a home but I have been working very long days and I wouldn’t have the time necessary to train one, or two, lol. If you work away from home eight or more hours out of the day, you don’t either.

Have you thought about a donkey? Excellent cattle protection - they hate coyotes or dogs…great animals! We have one named Clyde and he’s my favorite animal on our farm! Just a thought…

Lamas or alpaca do just as good if not better. It’s always good to have a dog as well

A female donkey is one of the best coyote defense animals. She will protect her heard with deadly force.

Go with a llama! They're surprisingly good at guarding livestock.

I really really like and appreciate your thought process. I wish more people would think about that

For what it's worth, depending on the livestock llamas and alpacas are pretty good guard animals so long as you only have 1

As someone who rescues working breed dogs, thank you for this message. Working breed dogs are high maintenance generally and need lots of time to influence their behaviour and temperament.
