No question that the 49ers have done very well overall in the draft under John Lynch, but the first round mistakes have been huge. Solomon Thomas, Ruben Foster, Trey Lance (x3 picks!), and Javon Kinlaw. That many failures would get most other GMs fired but he's found so many elite players in later rounds that the impact wasn't as great.

lance didnt even play his last year in college due to covid so idk why a team would give up that much for someone so raw. The mahomes model that everyone wants to copy worked because mahomes had a significant amount of starts in college before sitting for only 1 year in the nfl and even then the chiefs felt like mahomes could start day 1.

He’s barely played. I feel like a lot of the opinions on him are based on people assuming he must’ve not been killing it in practice his first year (considering he was hurt his second year).

They don’t need to move on from him. Purdy played above expectation, but got very lucky with turnovers. Just let them compete for the job.

Darnold will do well in San Francisco. They have an established offense and great defense. He’s not a bad player just isn’t the guy you want rebuilding a team.

That really is a big F for whoever drafted Lance. Only played a few games since high school. No combine either. The 49ers know more then what they are willing to say. They need to keep him for now with Brocks recovery timeline unknown. He gets to compete with Sam now too. Doesn't appear they have much confidence in his abilities.

So listen we traded those picks correct we been to the championship 2 years in a row with different qbs after this year we do not owe any draftpicks they say 3 draftpicks but it's really 2 it's done after this year so it didn't kill us we still draft better in the lesser rds getting tired of paying these 1st rd picks for no services

Every team make draft blunders how many early picks on qbs have teams like the browns and the jags made over the year or the dolphins every pick you make could be a bust either they can play with the big boys or they can’t they got 4 1/2 games and 2 training camps to see if he’s the guy some dudes never even see the field on Sunday. They got purdy he showed he could run shanny’s system well so you got to lance go try his luck at another table

Exactly, the jets and Packers have career GM s excellent front offices, they know how extremely important and valuable draft picks are, and went on a war for only 1⁸ first round pick! for future hall of fame mvp ARod, jets still keeping a first round !! Wow that's a win for them. And our front office / coach didn't care to trade 3 #1s and a 3rd for a QB with just a few games played in college!!!! missing his last year, and now, these are the consequences, not Lances fault that he was selected that early and giving up that much, he needs a team that can invest the time in years to wait and develop him in the nfl, basically in a rebuild mode, not a ready to win now like the 49ers, that was a huge miscalculation.

DeMeco don’t want Trey in Houston. Ron Carthon don’t want him in Tennessee. The Niners gave Darnold QB2 money with incentives to start. They’re not cutting Darnold. Forget Trey starting. Try staying on the roster. How long are the Niners gonna carry 3 qbs? GL Trey and save your money. JoM
