A super moon like this appeared the last time in January 1948. The natur spectacle is due to the ecliptic way, which the moon uses to perform, when surrounding the earth. Several times a year, the moon thus comes closer to our planet than usually.

Earth, sun and moon today stood in one line, a phenomenon called Syzygia. This night, the distance between moon and earth was 356.523 kilometers. In consequence of this very close position, the moon's light intensity was 30 percent more intense than normally.

The next super-super moon at this level will appear on 25 November 2034.

I filmed using a Sony alpha 6300 with a tele lens in 4K. I then magnified some sequences digitally. The used ISO sensitivity was between 500 and 2000. The sequences are presented in a fast motion speed.
