I've always wondered what Ali's take on it was but all I've learned from this whole interview is he's the most amicable guy of all time.

Bryan also dropping it to kofi just made the story so sweet. His heel environmental champ was great character work.

Feel bad for Ali, but Kofimania was just perfect timing. I think people forget the massive pop Kofi got throughout the MITB match the year prior. Fans wanted to see Kofi as champion and I'm glad Bryan and whoever else went to bat for Kofi to give the fans what they wanted.

I was at that mania. Was so beyond hype to see Kofi finally win it in person

Glad he didn’t feel left out. Honestly this interview made me appreciate how nice Ali is and what a great mental attitude he has when looking back at the adversity he faced.

Mustafa Ali actually got a championship match for the WWE title before Kofi did at Fastlane 2019.

The stars literally aligned for this. I have a feeling that if the champion hadn't also been Daniel Bryan at the time, that Kofimania wouldn't have been possible either. You know Bryan was politicking for this to happen.

Thank you, it’s what I’m saying. People saying Ali would got something like Kofi had he competed instead is false

Ali is a real one. "Yeah, it could have been me, but it wouldn't have been the same." I think he's perfectly content that someone like Kofi got that chance instead.

Daniel Bryan's heel work throughout that entire build was also superb. I think it was the best work he's done in his career.

Kofi was in the right place at the right time and he made it count. New Day were absolutely killing it and he took that momentum and managed to produce one of the top feel good Mania victories

I agree with Ali. He knew the fan base wouldn't back him enough to get to mania but I'm proud to day I was a big fan and still am a fan of the guy and his work in wwe as we'll as tna

from my understanding I think the original idea was gonna be Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens for Wrestlemania being the Pro Eco vs The Everyman. So Mustafa is right, even though he was gonna have a good showing at that Gauntlet Match

A lot of people on the internet say "Oh, Kofi stole Mustafa's spot! If Mustafa hadn't gotten injured, he would've become champion at Mania." What they need to understand is Kofimania was not part of the plan. The fans willed that into existence by being so loud that WWE couldn't ignore. If Mustafa had not gotten injured, someone else probably would have challenged Bryan for the title.
