Propagate Azaleas: Layering, Cuttings, and Autumn Seed Pods
Показать описание
3 Methods to Propagate Azaleas: Layering, Cuttings, and Autumn Seed Pods. This video provides different methods for propagating azaleas, including azalea layering, azalea seed pods, and autumn seed pods. For azalea layering, select a low hanging branch, dig a rut, score the branch, apply liquid fertilizer, bury the branch, weigh it down, and allow a year for the branch to form roots. For propagating through cuttings, select a pliable branch, remove the leaves, dampen the branch and chill it, score and fertilize the bottom, create holes in soil, insert the cuttings, cover with plastic, and wait for the root system to develop. For propagating during autumn, pull the seed pods from the plants, place them in labeled paper bags, wait for the pods to open, clean the seeds, and plant them in peat moss and sand in winter. Wait for the seeds to sprout and replant the growing seedlings after a year.
