Mona Lisa Pizzeria, not surprisingly owned by a man named Leonardo, a pizza champion of many competitions. In this video I review two pizzas, their Grandma pizza, which was recommended to my by a customer, and their Gold Medal truffle oil pizza, which was recommended to me by Leonardo himself. Come and join me as I taste a good ol' crispy Grandma slice and an award winning pizza!

The editing has reached new hights!! When heard the applause wasn't sure if that was phone or the TV. Pizza looked real good keep at it..still searching out here in Woodbridge area.

I don't know if I'll ever make to Mona Lisa's but I can assure you I thoroughly enjoyed that grandma slice just by watching you eat it. Thank you for sharing bud!

According to the menu that was a cognac cream sauce they put on the Gold Metal. That stole the show for me. That was a original looking slice 🍕 I would pay $23 for a whole! I see what you mean on the basil. I like it spread out, fresh whole basil works best for me. I would gain a few pounds if I lived near that place. Just about everything on the extensive menu looked delicious. I would definitely be trying the chicken garlic knot! Thanks for reviewing the original Gold Metal pizza 🍕 It's refreshing to see a pizza review that is more than just cheese and sauce.

Another excellent, very thorough review. Love how all your reviews systematically concentrate on ingredients, preparation techniques, finished physical properties and taste. You’ve established a “gold standard” of excellence that other pizza review channels will have a difficult time matching. Thanks for your time and outstanding effort covering NYC pizzerias, IMO the Mecca for creative pizzailos (outside of Naples).

I was thinking you had already reviewed the round pie at this place, but maybe not. That's interesting how they use that Grande cheese sticker on the box. I had a meeting with a Grande rep a few weeks back, and he gave me a ton of samples. They've got a new one out called 'Avorio' that's a soft fresh mozzarella meant specifically for grandma pies. I'm guessing they might be using it on theirs, judging by the look of it. So it would seem that grandma pies (and I guess probably Sicilians, too) made in your neck of the woods might be topped with either basil or oregano, from what I'm seeing in your videos. I continue to be intrigued and pleased by the variety of different pizzas, both thick and thin, that you come across. I had a hard time telling what exactly was on that gold medal slice. I could see mushrooms, but the color of the sauce/cheese component was a bit mystifying. I was starting to think maybe there was some kind of chicken marsala thing going on there. Anyway, great video. Keep it up.

Mushrooms are a migraine trigger for me, so I won't be able to try the gold medal pizza unfortunately. I really should add Mona Lisa to my delivery rotation.

If you ever venture to the Long Island area, the best grandma pizza is at Umberto's(Wantagh or New Hyde Park locations) It's a thing of beauty I tell ya! Grandma pies were started right here on Long Island!
btw'- what does your shirt say? I've been trying to find a good pizza t-shirt. All of them seem to have pepperoni on the slices and I just wish they'd make a cheese slice cause I am not a pepperoni person.

I am not a huge fan of Truffles.. Can't tolerate to much of a taste. Is it a hint or is it a pretty pronounced truffle flavor.
