If you haven't worked for 10 years or 40 quarters, Then you may think there is no way you can receive Medicare or Social Security Benefits. But the reality is there are circumstances where you can draw benefits from an ex-spouse, a current spouse, or a deceased spouse.

Wow! You’re the only guy who clarified that the spouse isn’t taking half the money directly from the other spouse. Most YouTubers don’t clarify this point, thanks!

How about if you’re currently drawing off your own social security at 62. Can you change to draw from your ex spouse if it would be more, and how do you determine if it would be more or not?

I think the law should be change about how long you have to be marry to ex spouse. for example like if you never got remarry to new spouse My ex husband was in the army, and we move all the time .we was only marry for about six years, and we had one child together. I like for the law to be change .

So, what if you remarried before age 60. I just found out that I am eligible for substantial survivorship benefits from 1st wife except for the remarriage. Can I divorce and remarry again just to qualify to get these benefits? I realize this doesn't sound ethical. But it is legal? What are the rules here? Thanks

Not enough detail. Fir exampmw, If your ex- spiouse makes more than 50% of your own work benefit in SS than you xan ckaim theirs. If they due, then you receive 100%
