The Finishing Touches: Painting Your First WWII German Grenadiers [How I Paint Things]

Once you've got the basecoats and some simple washes on your miniatures to get them to the table dressed in something other than boring grey plastic, the next steps are still relatively simple. Some highlights, a little surprise trick here and there in the form of a pencil - the finishing touches will be a simple measure once you've got some experience under your belt having tackled the basics to paint a couple of squads to a finished look.

Long time painter here and I learned a few new things here. Your how I paint things videos continue to educate me after 40 years of painting.

I quite like the idea of breaking this into a second video. Certainly no need to do it everytime, but given that these two are beginners guides it's a good plan

Very handy and helpful video, I imagine these colours would look great on Cadians as well! That green is so vivid.

Ivory is definitely a must-have paint for any painter's toolbox. I'd also include Ice Yellow, Sunny Skin Tone, and P3 Coal Black as MVPs for versatility.

This was a great follow up to part 1. I think lightening the base colors is a good idea as it brings the color closer to the original uniform shade. Thanks for sharing this.

Great second video for the model. I have used graphite sticks for the metal highlights and crayons/pastels for coloured shading.
