Peter Pan (2003) is the best version of Peter Pan though, so it's such a bummer that when it was finally released that it didn't bode well for people. Also, just would like say Jason hit the entire meaning of Peter Pan so well. It's a coming of age story, for sure.

I was a young student working at a cinema part time when this film came out. When I was done with my shift I went to see it out of curiosity expecting that it might be too childish for me in my late teens at the time and I was so pleasantly surprised by it, it had so many layers to it and it did not talk down to kids. Also the child actors where all perfectly cast, in fact the entire casting was brilliant. I loved it so much that I saw it two more times in the cinema (Well, it was free for me but still.. haha) and to this day I consider it along with the 1993 version of "The Secret Garden" as one of the best children book adaptation. It's a really solid movie ! It is heartbreaking that people did not give it a chance at time of release and I experienced it directly while working at the cinema, the screens where often empty and after I saw it, it made me sad because I just knew how good it was and that people where missing out on a hidden gem because of the per-conceived idea they had about Peter Pan due to the Disney version .

I was literally obsessed with Peter Pan 2003. I put fake trees around my living room and pretended to be the characters from the movie, and I would watch it over and over again. I still frequently watch it. I think it is such a masterpiece. I had no idea it didn't do as well as expected.

I was a girl hitting puberty when this film came out and I fell in love with Peter Pan and the film. Jason Isaacs is right. This was the definitive Peter Pan for me. When I read the book, I was shocked that it was closer to the book than the snippets I've seen of the animated film. I wish this movie had given it's fair shake. It was the best movie of the year for me and is still one of my all-time favorite movies.

Some people were upset with Jason saying Hook was a seductive figure for Wendy’s transformation into womanhood. But think about it. Every young girl or boy has had a crush on an adult, which starts off innocent enough. But when they begin puberty, those feelings change into something deeper, which is all part of growing up and they talk about that in the 2003 movie. It’s not to say that Hook reciprocates those feelings because all he cares about is winning the battle and getting his revenge. It’s about what he symbolizes to Wendy, what her new beginning is.

Jason really pulled no punches when he said of Disney's Peter Pan that it was "made for toddlers"!! Still masses of respect to the man, and I'm glad he still stands by the 2003 film.

He's just brilliant. What I like about his interviews is that he always gives very clever answers and understands his characters SO WELL. What a man.

I grew up watching the 2003 movie (I was 3 when it came out). When I saw the Disney movie (like 3 years later), I didn’t like it and I wanted to watch the other one instead. I rewatched it a few weeks ago and it’s still one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Jason Isaacs was absolutely amazing in his roles, it’s amazing how he can play two different roles so differently. I didn’t realize until I was about 12 that Father Darling and Captain Hook were played by the same people.

The best live action Captain Hook. I especially love how terrified his crew is of him throughout the entire film

Shocked and so sad it did not do well. I took my son when he was 5 and we were both enthralled. Beautiful, fun, funny and embraced the exciting pirate spirit.

He’s absolutely correct in every way. It’s a moving film in so many ways. It IS exploring Wendy’s coming of age… Pan is a kid and Hook is a MAN. I was completely taken aback by how sexy he is in that film. Wendy is obviously intrigued by him in a pubescent female way. He only reciprocated as much as he could in an appropriate way (as in sexually) to get what he wanted to win over Pan…

It was INSANE that they didn't push the release date forward. Putting it out one week before Return of the King (he says 2nd film, but 2003 was Return of the King) GUARANTEED no one was going to see it. If they'd just pushed it to April or May it would've been a huge summer blockbuster.

It’s so strange to hear one of your favorite movies flopped over all, especially when you keep seeing so many people have the same love for it! Thank you to Universal for allowing this beautiful creation come to life!

The first time after watching this movie I ran to write a letter to Peter Pan, and I found fairy dust and a hand written reply from Peter himself! I did that often, sometimes leaving a book (the Chronicles of Narnia) for Peter to take with him to Neverland to read. To this day I still have the fairy dust in a velvet pouch and will always believe in Peter Pan.
