Trooper's Report:

On May 8, 2021 I was on patrol in Fulton County. I located a Dodge Challenger on
the corner of McDaniel Street and Whitehall Street that had previously fled from
Troopers. As I pulled into the parking lot the vehicle immediately pulling out of the
parking lot and entering the westbound ramp to I-20. I notified Troop C
Communications of the pursuit as we traveled westbound on I-20 at a high rate of
speed. I pursued the Challenger westbound on I-20 to the area of I-20 and I-285
were I lost contact with the vehicle due to the performance limitations of my patrol
car and discontinued pursuit.
The vehicle was located unoccupied at 212 Harwell Place and it was towed by
ATow.

The power difference between the 392 and Pursuit/RT is crazy.

Man I only ever ran one time cuz my license was suspended, my CRX had no plates and the trip permit was expired lol. Being 17 didn't help. My car was slow but I knew the area, it was getting dark (human eyes are at the most disadvantage at twilight) and I knew the weaknesses of the Crown Vic interceptors so I ran through a windy backroad that edges a steep drop-off on one side, I couldn't pickup speed lost but I knew I could handle the corners without braking. At the end of the curves was a steep downgrade after the crest of the hill. But immediately to the right after that crest right where the downhill starts is a pair of roads that led into a large housing division and the entrance wasn't well lit. I had my lead after the curves, I popped over the hill and pulled a hard right, turned off my lights and pulled into an empty driveway between an unoccupied garage and a tall bush. I saw the police car fly past the entrance and I never saw him come back lol

Drivers in Atlanta are like the drivers in the state of Arkansas: never pull to the right when emergency vehicle is coming.

In the trooper's report, he recalled hearing Beep Beep right before the Challenger took off.

Reading the report. I wondered if it was reported stolen or the guy that ran just parked it somewhere not thinking they got the plates.

Between the sun in his eyes, a dirty and pitted windshield and a vehicle that doesn’t have the same engine capabilities it’s no wonder the Trooper couldn’t keep up. Gotta give him an A for effort!
