I do think it was a bad idea for them to reveal or drip markets anything from 1.3 so early. It would have been better if they had drip marketed shorekeeper in the midst of 1.2 like half way through zheshi's banner to get most out of it. The fact that kuro hasn't drip marketed another 5 star kind of tells me that they aren't 100% decided who they want to run in that patch as of yet.

Personally hoping that 1.3 will be the introduction of the Black Shores area and storyline along with banners for Camellya and Shorekeeper. That would be one explosive update. 1.2 is obviously a filler update.

The reason why people are interested obviously in Jinhsi was because of how extremely op she was and of course adding ZheZhi to that factor makes Jinhsi even more op and it's one of the top reasons some players are hating on her

Honestly speaking I played PGR a few years ago and not only do I know that Kuro CAN just have one 5 star in one patch, and if you were to look at genshin impact, they started with reruns in 1.4. I think it's good for Kuro to take a bit of a break, and their sales will definitely be bad in 1.2, but their 1.3 sales will also make up for it (I'm a light spender, but I'll definitely top up in 1.2 to guarantee Shorekeeper and her weapon)
Also I do agree that drip marketing 1.3 characters this early was a bad move for their sales lmao (I don't think that Camellya will get her banner in 1.3 though.. it feels a bit early and scuffed, and we'd 100% have already gotten her drip marketing if that was the case lmao)

Yeah i have been thinking why they reveal shorekeeper before even 1.2 didnt drop live yet. It could have been better marketing after 2nd half of the event they reveal that lady. Now 50% f2p all around the world will totally skip 1.2 even tho zhezhi is top tier sub dps/ buffer for glacio future dps + cordinate attack generator battery. I think kuro games should be take care of thier future plans about releasing leaks n trailers and reveals.

I think what you said makes total sense. Regarding Camellya I’ve also read to that she might be in 1.4. Regardless though what I read was 1.3 would feature 2 brand new 5 stars so totally agree with your logic. Kuro is a business and I believe this is just a business decision and we’ll find out shortly about the other new 5 star once 1.2 is live. Thanks again for the great video bro

I mean they could go the HSR route having reruns alongside the new characters, but given the PS5 release for WW could be soon, it does make sense if they gonna start reruns. So high chance Jiyan or Yinlin could take up that spot for a new character and Shorekeeper is the only new character. Still I wont complain if Camellya is dripped later either. Still great video!

Tbf while there is a hype for zhezhi and xiangli yao, u gotta admit the hype was not nowhere near jiyan, yinlin, jinshi and changli. U put any of these 4 beside 1.2 characters and u already know which will make more sales. Also personally 1.2 feels like a “thank u” patch by Kuro for expanding into Playstation by giving xiangli yao for free. It would already be their lowest profiting patch, so how would they reduce the losses? Zhezhi…how? By making her a support to the latest released and strongest DPS. Hence, i feel part of it is design consistency…when u compare a character designed with an integrated role vs character that feels like a role was slapped onto them, it does produce a “weaker” character identity…(but who knows, i may just eat my own words)
